The Family Resource Center at Valleywise Community Health Center - South Phoenix/Laveen offers support services for you, your family and the community. 

We believe that knowledge helps you make better decisions about improving your health and managing your medical care. Sometimes we may need support in other areas of our lives that may affect and impact our health. The FRC offers a comfortable place and caring staff to support you as you seek information and resources.

Our center is an excellent source for health information, community referrals, and free classes and parenting activities. You will find a wealth of books and pamphlets, along with a children's reading area and computers with Internet access.

Information

We can give you information on various topics such as diseases, treatments, tests or preventative care or questions that arise in your daily life.  For example, topics that people commonly inquire about include pregnancy, parenting, child development, nutrition, diabetes and asthma. 

Referrals

Sometimes you might have a question that requires a more in-depth answer.  For example, you need details on car seats, shelters, health insurance or children's activities.  We will gladly connect you to a community agency that can give you more information and we assist you in the process of working with that agency. 

Education Classes and Parenting Activities

Our Family Resource Center holds a variety of classes and activities on topics like parenting, nutrition, safety, early literacy and child development.  We look to support the entire family with free, high-quality classes and activities.  We focus on early childhood education and development as we see the importance of starting at a young age.
